The dragon had decided to cross the portal and try to enjoy a day of flying. Sure Cloudjumper enjoyed his days with Liv and the younger dragons but it was nice to get away every once in a while. That morning he had walked to the portal and crossed it. Once he was on the other side, Cloudjumper flapped his wings some as if giving them a test before kicking off of the ground and taking to the air. He couldn’t help but enjoy the air rushing around him as he flew around in the sky, nothing could beat this feeling. Of course he didn’t mind being human in San Francisco as long as it meant he could spend time with Liv and others but he couldn’t help but miss being a dragon still.

After a while Cloudjumper decided to land near a lake, taking a break from flying, it was nice to take a break after a while. Once on the ground, he folded his wings up and just started to relax. He couldn’t help but just enjoy the sun beating down on to his scales, warming himself in the sun’s rays. In truth the dragon couldn’t help but enjoy having a lazy day every once in a while, by either just flying around, relaxing in the sun, or doing both in the same day like today. Cludjumper’s tail curled around him as he just laid there enjoying the peace and quiet that one couldn’t find often on this side of the portal. He let out a slight huff as he looked into the water, watching the quiet surface.

After some time Cloudjumper had fallen asleep, he wasn’t sure how long he had been asleep when he was awoken by a sound of rustling nearby. His head shot up as he looked toward where the sound was coming from, the fins around his head moved some as he listened to the sounds. A low growl came from him as if telling whatever it was to show itself. He slowly pushed himself up so he was standing up now as if getting ready to fight and defend himself if he needed to be. Cloudjumper let out another growl, trying to show whatever it was, the he was more than able to defend himself, his tail lashing some as he kept watching where the noise was coming from.

He tried his best to keep his portal crossings short, but spread out. Not really wanting to risk losing his memories, but not overeager to risk getting caught on the other side for too long. He'd had enough close calls in the past; more then enough, to last him several lifetimes. It was almost remarkable how quickly the dangers of the animated world forced someone so young to grow up. Forced him to look at the world around him with hyper-focused, when he should have been lost in play. Secure in the notion that at least one of his parents had a watchful eye over his nest. Or that on the island they'd called home there hadn't really been anything worth fearing. He barely remembered his time in The Great Valley or the Mysterious Beyond, but he didn't remember ever really feeling in danger at either of those places. Not until the darkness swept across their home and took his parents.

He missed that feeling a lot. Now whenever he crossed into this side of the portal there was a sense of something in the air. As young as he was even he had instincts he couldn't ignore. It made him far more cautious then he used to be. Never straying from the areas in which the portal left him; at least not far or for very long. As much as he wanted desperately to go searching for his friends out in that world, he understood that he was too small and nowhere near strong enough to face against anything that might come at him. So he'd learned to use his nose and to hide in things that would keep his scent from the world.

Still for all his caution he was still a baby. Still young enough that sometimes he couldn't help the distractions that made him wander. A butterfly fluttering past his face, or the whisper of breeze across a peaceful looking field. He'd waddle out of hiding and play; hopping over rocks and pretending to hunt.

Stumbling out towards the lake. He froze mid-step at the sound of a growl, attention turning towards the sound and stumbling back as his eyes found a creature that was unfamiliar to him. It was a large beast, with wings, like the fliers, but not at the same time. Eyes widening he blinked up at it, falling back onto the ground. He hadn't meant to make noise, or to intrude. "I'm sorry." He said with a whimper head turning to look back at the bushes he'd stumbled out of. Wondering if he can hide now that he's been spotted.

Then it's time for you to shine
Lonan couldn’t help but tip his head slightly to the side seeing that it had been a little one that had stumbled out of the bushes. He couldn’t help but be surprised by seeing one so young out on this side of the portal by themselves, of he could had looked around for any signs of anyone else but when he hadn’t seen anyone else he turned his gaze back to the young creature before him. He really wasn’t sure what to think about this creature, it obviously wasn’t any danger to himself, and he did feel a bit sorry for the creature to be out here all alone.

He looked back toward the young creature, as Lonan curled his tail around him and kept his wings promptly folded. “It’s alright, I just thought that you were one of those creatures.” he kept his voice as soft and as kind as he could, keeping his eyes on the young one. The dragon had always had a soft spot for the young dragons back at home even if he didn’t really show it, so he couldn’t help but want to help out this young one that had showed up seemingly out of nowhere.

Lonan turned his graze back out toward the water than, glancing back at the little one. “You may join me if you would like” his tail move just slightly as he spoke. After a few more minutes he turned his full attention on the young creature. He couldn’t help but wonder if this creature was a young t-rex, only having seeing fossils of the creatures he fully couldn’t be sure, but then he didn’t really mind. The dragon just knew that he would help the young creature out if it needed his help. He ended up crouching down lower as that he was closer to the ground for the creature.

He tipped his head some toward the creature as he took a better look at the other one. “My name is Cloudjumper on this side and on the other side in the city I am known as Lonan. You call me either one of those names if you would like.” he didn’t really seem to care which one the youngling decided to call him.
