If Dallas were to ever call anything in life his "passion", it would most certainly be music. He loved it in every form. He believed every object, every person had its own distinct rhythm. If you listened to this rhythm, respected it, found your own...well, you could do practically anything. He wasn't a philosophical kind of guy, but he believed at least this to be true above all else.

He was especially fond of good music. And those who could create good music. To have talent was one thing, anyone could have talent. But making good music that spoke to the soul was a matter of dedication. Practice.

Which is what originally drew him to the elder pianist. He'd caught one of his sets and had continued to come back whenever he heard he was playing. There was something about the way he played that had transfixed Dallas. He'd struck up a conversation on one of these nights and the two had managed to become fast friends. They'd even taken to doing gigs together whenever the other was free. Dallas wasn't terrible at the piano himself, but he almost always left the playing to Danny. He was an artist. Dallas didn't want to stand in the way of artistry.

He gave a charming smile to the bartender as he picked up the two glasses and strode dutifully back to the table where Danny sat. He slid the glass to him and took a gulp from his one. His veins thrummed with the adrenaline he'd come accustomed to after any good show. He felt more alive in these moments than he'd ever felt before. He could punch a wall. He wouldn't, but he could.

"Great job up there, man."

This city's got a beat, and you gotta hook into it.

Your typical surly New Yorker, Dallas was once a dog (both literally and figuratively) who grew up hardened on the streets, doing what he could to support his little mismatched family. He passed through a few years back, and though he misses NYC a whole heck of a lot, he's taken to San Fran a lot like a duck takes to water.

In general, Dallas is an incredibly easygoing type of guy. He takes life one day at a time, as it comes, and doesn't seem overly stressed or worried about much of anything. In fact, his biggest vice would probably be that he seems too careless. Everything is a game to him, some big joke. Which is true, for the most part; he finds it difficult to give a shit about many things, save for those things regarding himself and his loved ones. He's a smooth talker and doesn't really know when to hold his tongue or stop talking. He's stubborn as all get-out and very set in his ways; he's the kind whose mind is difficult to change, once its set on something. He's also a bit arrogant, with a large ego that can grow even larger if left unchecked. What he lacks in book smarts he makes up in street smarts and interpersonal knowledge. He can be surprisingly patient, however, if given the opportunity and is really a huge softie under the swagger.

HOW YOU CAN MEET HIM Dallas bartends as his normal night job, so I'm sure he'll meet tons of people that way. The place he works at his small, kind of a dive, hardly ritzy, but he treats it like a second home and basically runs the place when the owner isn't around. He moonlights as a very smalltime musician, playing at clubs or bars or anywhere that'll really take him.

FRIENDS wise, he tends to be pretty good with people and isn't afraid of initiating conversation with strangers. I see him having a lot of more casual friends. Drinking buddies, folks whose place he'll stay at every once in a while, but he can be a bit distrustful so very good friends will take some working up to. But once you're in, you're in for life. He is fiercely loyal and overprotective of those he's fond of. And he's a lot of fun to be around! (according to himself, anyway)

As for ENEMIES, you'll find it's really difficult to actually rile him up. He doesn't have any sort of real temper. If you were to, say, embarrass him he might get a bit huffy but not enough to really do much. He does like to wind up others, particularly those he knows don't seem to like him all too well, so he's annoying in that regard. I'm sure there'll be quite a few people that will find his attitude off-putting. He's not particularly fond of the ignorant or willfully naive, either.

Dallas hasn't had many real committed ROMANTIC affiliations. He is a serial flirt. He loves men, and women, and anyone he can take a metaphorical swing at -- as you can imagine, he's not afraid to get around. >> He's no prince charming by any means, but he'd make a decent, doting boyfriend to whoever has the time and patience to capture and keep his affection. He's beginning to realize his feelings for one of his best friend, but of course, right now he's still kind of confused about it.

I guess every lonely little girl would hope she's a princess.

Katya had spent half her life never knowing who she truly was. She was, of course, the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanov, daughter of the Russian tsar. Or at least, she was a version of her. It's really kind of confusing, seeing as the "real" Anastasia is supposedly dead, but she really tries hard not to think about how history went on this side of the portal. She did eventually learn her past, only to have it and her family snatched away mere moments later. It was in this time she came across the bridge, half-drowned and freezing cold, nearly ten years ago.

This girl is...feisty, to put it mildly. She's very opinionated and unafraid of voicing those opinions; tact is not really something she's known for, though she doesn't purposely go out of her way to offend. She's extremely determined, and stubborn, with a quick-to-fire temper, wit, and a sharp tongue, as well as boundless energy. She lives for her independence, the ability to stand on her own two feet while taking nothing from anyone. She's my sassy princess bab ok.

HOW YOU CAN MEET HER Katya works for the Children's Creativity Museum here in SF. Any character with little kids might have had a good chance to at least see her in passing. She spends times in clubs, she enjoys shopping (though she doesn't have that much money...oops) and cultural attractions like museums, zoos, etc. She also travels a lot to the animated world.

At her core, Katya has felt loneliness for many years, so FRIENDS are always something she enjoys making and making quickly. She's a kind girl, really, and can be very affectionate with those she's fond of. She just likes people, for the most part? So if you want someone to drag you around the city until your feet are sore, this is your girl to call.

As I mentioned above, she does have a temper. ENEMIES I imagine are anyone who have happened to get on her bad side, whether by spouting off about things she disagrees with or just generally being an ass. She can be pretty set on first impressions -- that is, if she doesn't like you when she meets you, chances are it'll take a lot to get her to shake that off, but if you give her time she may very well change her mind. Just don't expect her not to call you on your shit.

ROMANCE is....tricky. She's always been somewhat of a romantic deep at heart -- the idea of one day being swept off her feet is appealing, at least in theory. I imagine she's had a few relationships in the past, with men and women, of varying lengths. When she falls, she tends to fall awful hard. Currently she's in a sticky situation involving her first love and his returned wife, and after torturing her a little bit her future will eventually be sealed. That doesn't mean there couldn't be something short lived? Or something in the past? Or AUs, because we all know how much I love those.

mina delacour

queen of arendelle from frozen

This is Mina Delacour. In a time long past she was once QUEEN IDUNN of a small country called Arendelle. However, she no longer remembers any of that. A near death experience caused her mind to repress her memories of her family and her home, and in order to compensate for a lack of memories to take or give, the Portal just gave her a lot of false ones. They are trying to make their way back into the forefront of her mind, so recently she's been a tad...melancholic. Recurring nightmares and depressive moodswings have left her wondering if maybe there's much more to her past than she thinks.

She carries herself with all the poise and regalia you'd expect from a former noble. This may make her seem stuck up or spoilt. She is, after all, very reserved and quiet. But she's a sweetie with a good head on her shoulders, very patient and tenderhearted and smart as a whip.

A few fun facts! She bakes to calm her nerves but doesn't like to actually cook, she loves horses and goes horseback riding often, she's afraid of the ocean, she likes pretty/sparkly things and collects jewelry, she's surprisingly outdoorsy, and she's absolutely fascinated by mythology.

HOW YOU CAN MEET HER These are by no means the only ways to interact with my girl, but some ideas in case you're a little stuck. She's an EVENT PLANNER who does every type of event under the sun from weddings, to birthday parties, to anniversaries, to baby showers, the list goes on and on. Because of this she's very keen on keeping up good relationships with potential vendors, so if your baby has something they can contribute, there's a good chance she might have approached them at some point. Besides that, she's often seen around cafes, bookstores or the park, as well as some stables outside the city where she rides and gives riding lessons in her spare time. Like I said, these are suggestions. Honestly, she can be anywhere! The world is our oyster.

As far as FRIENDS go, Mina is the ultimate textbook definition Mom Friend ™. The responsible one who you can't help but wonder how the heck she has her shit together so well. She'll call you to make sure you're doing okay if she hasn't heard from you in a while, she'll bring you lunch or cookies or whatever. She's a wonderful listener, if you need a shoulder to cry on. And she's game for just about anything that isn't illegal.

ENEMIES are tricky because she's the type that tends to believe everyone has some good in them, however small. She isn't one to pick fights. She doesn't get angry often, but when she does, she basically shuts down and acts coldly. Or walks away. The only way I can really see anyone ticking her off is if they hurt someone else because she's more inclined to stand up for another than to stand up for herself.

ROMANTICALLY Mina is closed off for the foreseeable future. She is in a relationship with a certain Henri Aren, who, unbeknownst to both of them, happens to be her long lost king-husband. She loves him dearly and I doubt anything save hellfire would ever make her change her mind. I am open to AUs or past things (as I imagine she tried to date for a little while before meeting Henri), just ask away!

lenora dossett

madame leota (AOC)

Lenora grew up surrounded by dead people. In her life, long ago and before the Darkness ever existed, she was a decently powerful medium. Unwilling to abandon her spirit friends, she ran away from home and cultivated an existence using her skills to trick unsuspecting folks out of paltry sums of cash, all the while navigating her way through the ins and outs of spellcraft. Eventually, however, she met an unfortunate and grisly end; murdered in the prime of her life, and forced to spend all eternity locked in the mansion in which the murder took place. But it wasn't all bad, and she learned to quite enjoy her time in the mansion, surrounded by so many others who also met their own unfortunate ends. She learned ways to amuse herself, by observing the living and taking part in the everlasting party of the dead.

She is a woman who is primarily concerned with interesting or extraordinary things. She's a very curious creature by nature, so don't be offended if you find her staring or playing an impromptu game of twenty questions with you. She likes to unravel mysteries, while keeping herself an utter enigma, though she is not afraid to speak openly about who and what she is if pressed. You can call her old-fashioned in a way, as she is in a sense frozen within the time she passed; there are things and customs in 2017 she hasn't yet gotten used to. She speaks formally and firmly, and always has an air of whimsy about her. Her moral compass can be a bit skewed, as she sees no harm in violence or murder or any other evils of the world. She simply sees them as inevitable and necessary. The best way I can describe her is a missing member of the Addams family, honestly. Waiflike, gothic, with delight in strange and morbid things.

HOW YOU CAN MEET HER Lenora owns a small metaphysical shop near the wharf. It sells supplies for witchcraft and the occult as well as touristy things and oddities collected from everywhere she can find them. She has been known to sell potions or perform hexes for the right price, and may be convinced to perform a seance or two if needed. She isn't the type to want to stay in one place for too long (mostly because years in a haunted mansion has made her yearn to wander) so when she isn't manning the shop, you could find her literally anywhere throughout the city. The odder the place, the more likely you are to find her. She can sense when someone in San Fran isn't all-together living, and is more attracted to them, as well as those who have a hint of magic about them. Bring her the creepy babs.

She likes to keep many, many FRIENDS. She may seem a bit hard to speak to, as she can be an overwhelming and slightly creepy presence, but she is naturally very warm to everyone and anyone. She's open-minded, never quick to judge someone by appearance or mannerisms upon first meeting. She likes to learn and listen, which makes her the perfect person to pour your troubles on. She can be quirky, obviously, but if you can get passed that she could be a valuable ally to have. It should be noted she has a soft spot for children.

In her life, Lenora was known for having a pointed temper. Death has chilled her, but she can still be riled if given ample opportunity. ENEMIES to her are those who allow themselves to be close-minded and bigoted. Those who hate without due cause. She does not believe in the idea of equal retribution, and would probably go so far as to turn someone into a toad if she believed their attitude warranted it.

ROMANCE is a touchy subject for Lenora, as it was romance that lead to her death. She knows how to love, and has loved, and probably will love again, but she's very reluctant to do so. She has needs like every woman, however, and isn't too fussed with taking a tumble with someone if they're interesting or attractive.

She also has a somewhat part-time job with Haven Hill as a GUIDE, helping refugees cross from the animated world into San Francisco. She's debated joining the Rebellion but would find keeping a life going in the city would be extremely difficult that way. Other than that, she spends times in bars or clubs, she enjoys shopping (though she doesn't have that much money...oops) and cultural attractions like museums, zoos, etc.

ROMANCE is something Katya currently doesn't even want to think about. She's had a few relationships since arriving, of course, all varied in length, but she's never been super absorbed in the idea of dating or settling down. That isn't to say she'd be opposed to it if given the option, however -- she's got a mushy romantic side she doesn't like to talk about. There will be some drama in this department coming up i.e. love triangles and terrible things, but her future is pretty much set. I am open to past or AU things and maybe even something in-between.a rebound of sorts as she tries to distance herself from her current chaos (which would have to be short-term but!! sometimes those are some of the best plots)

WARNING: MENTIONS OF DRUGS & NEEDLES

The brightly colored, obnoxious screens overhead buzzed softly, painting the dark streets in eerie ( ghostly ) neon light. On them beautiful women with pleasant sounding voices raved about the latest in GeneCo technology -- the latest cosmetic procedures guaranteed to make your life better, to make you more attractive, smarter, faster. Every so often the screens would flicker and the name, GeneCo, would appear in red lettering, followed by a public service announcement warning folks that graverobbers, as they called them, would be shot on sight. Then it would change again, maybe advertising the latest opera. Then it would cycle through it all again. Indefinitely.

But Dallas didn't go out to watch the billboards. He kept his stride casual, his footsteps echoed too loudly on the broken and battered streets. Things were dirty in this part of town. The general unkemptness -- the trash, broken bottles and God knew what else -- almost made it seem deserted. There were trash trucks that came through and tidied every once in a while, when they could bother, but it never stayed that way for long. If you kept a keen eye, you could see shapes huddled in the shadows. Either living people or corpses. It was difficult to tell nowadays, where one ended and the other began. Every corner of the city was a godforsaken graveyard, with new plots popping up every day.

Which made his job easy.

Heaven or Hell, opportunists stayed the same, and that's what Dallas was. An opportunist. Even with the whole place up to their designer eyeballs in debt to GeneCo and Rotti Largo, he was going to find a way to claw his way back to the top of the pile.

He didn't have to go far to find what he needed. Someone unfortunate enough not to get a proper burial. He turned the muslin covered body over and grimaced. There was nothing pleasant about what he was about to do; it still felt wrong, no matter how many times he'd taken the syringe out of the pack at his side. With a steady hand he pierced their flesh, watching the small vial fill with a brilliant blue. Zydrate. The only thing that got anyone anywhere. Highly, highly addictive, better than any other narcotic mankind had come up with. And very, very illegal to sell on the street. He uncapped another vial and quickly switched them out with the kind of deftness that came with practice and calloused fingers.

Then a shadow blocked the light emanating from the nearby streetlamp. He cursed quietly, fumbling now, trying to cap the last vial and remove the needle without drawing too much attention to himself. One of the vials spilled, just a drop, and the brilliant blue stained the pavement with a small glow. He dared to glance behind him, not seeing the figure clearly, but seeing that they weren't seven feet tall like the Repo Man or decked out with a floodlight like the police. If he was lucky, they'd turn a blind eye and not give him any trouble.
