Can't feel anything, when will I learn
I push it down, push it down
I'm the one "for a good time call"
Phone's blowin' up, they're ringin' my doorbell
I feel the love, feel the love
1, 2, 3 1, 2, 3 drink
1, 2, 3 1, 2, 3 drink
1, 2, 3 1, 2, 3 drink
Throw em back, till I lose count
I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist
Like it doesn't exist
I'm gonna fly like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dry
I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
And I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down won't open my eyes
Keep my glass full until morning light, 'cause I'm just holding on for tonight
Help me, I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down won't open my eyes
Keep my glass full until morning light, 'cause I'm just holding on for tonight
On for tonight

Nick Wilde, do I love him? Yes, yes I do.

He's a very important figure in Judy's life and she needs to meet up with him again, desperately. She has no idea what happened to him and what actually did, is entirely up to you. Their canon ended around two weeks after the press conference and Judy was working with her parents when she realized what Night-howlers actually were. By the time she tried to get into the city to find Nick and fix things, it was too late because the darkness struck and here we are years later.

She's now a detective, working for the SFPD primarily on missing persons cases and she thinks about Nick, her family and Zootopia every damn day. She's been eaten alive by not knowing what happened to any of them. She fears them dead, or worse and it breaks her heart to have lived with how things ended between them all this time. Let me just say if you take this there's likely to be a lot of crying on Harl's part. Like a lot.

Please note this isn't a romantic request (though it could be I'm just not sure about them as finals, as Judy currently has some plans and I've discussed those with another player, though its slow-burn. But I'm open to them dating if that's your thing - dating then deciding to stay as friends could be a thing too, oh ho ho ho. Otherwise I'm equally as happy with them as BFFs. Basically I'm super chill and I don't want to limit anyone's creativity.)

How Nick feels about everything that's happened is entirely up to whoever takes him, he could be bitter still, he might not have his memory even, or he could be as worried about Judy as she's been about him.

You should know I love pain and angst but at the end of the day... I just really want a Nick around to plot and thread with. I will give you all the love and cookies and adoration in the world. Suggested faces.... well idk anyone really, I'm super crap at faces myself. Just let me love you and give him to me and Judy????? ; -
;

More Zootopia to come!!!

why are always stuck and
running from the bullets?

This was supposed to be fun, all things considered. This was supposed to be a break from work, from the long hard days that usually ended in heartbreak and rarely in happiness. It seemed as though she’d do anything to distract herself from the maddening guilt that tugged at her soul. Where were her parents? Her siblings? Where were the citizens of Zootopia? Where were her co-workers? Where was Nick? She felt alone, it was usually something she staved off pretty well with music and workouts and actual work. If she distracted herself long enough she could almost pretend like the world hadn’t collapsed around her ears with a thunderous bang.

Alex helped that distraction and drove her to new ones. They’d been dating a few weeks now but she still hadn’t figured him out, for all her detective skills – fat lot of good those did her! His roommate was equally as perplexing but she decided not to go there, as she sat in the semi-crowded bar sipping her Agent Orange. It was a mixture of Carrot juice, vodka and rum, or so the bar tender had told her. It was good nonetheless and half gone, she could fee the familiar rush of alcohol running through her system. She’d never have indulged as a bunny. She’d taken sips of her grandfathers distilled carrot liqueur and it sent her bonkers with her lightning fast metabolism. Beer was better, but not by much.

As a human though, it didn’t seem as hard-hitting and she could at lest take the edge off with a few before she said no more. This date was her idea, like usual. In her memory Alex hadn’t suggested one yet. Perhaps she was blind or too caught up in the prospect of liking him, or developing something more. Harley did like him, she knew that much. Enough time had passed for her to figure out that at least, but if there was anything beyond that, she didn’t know. There were a few dampeners on the relationship, maybe she was fooling herself. Was she actually miserable and didn’t want to see it?

Distractions on top of distractions. One of these days she was going to break and the resulting melt down was going to be spectacular. But for now, she’d keep ignoring her feelings, and focusing on something else, anything else – just not zootopia, or family, former work or long lost friends. She was of course, early as usual. She couldn't be late to save her life and always seemed a little overeager as a result. In the professional world it wasn't a bad thing, in the social one it could be, depending on the person. You are going to have fun. This is going to be a good night! Try to have fun?

Then she saw him! "Alex!" She said, shooting out of her seat and waving him over to her couch and table. "Hey how are you going?" She lent in to give him a peck on the cheek and bounced back on the balls of her feet, almost hopping with excitement - even if it was a little fake, willing herself into happiness. alexei aurelius cináed

oh, I just need to know
That you won't forget about me

Ears up, eyes scanning, with her paw poised over her weapon, Harley – well it was Judy here wasn’t it? – tread very carefully. Her every step was measured as she traversed the animated realm looking for clues. She wouldn’t stop until she found something. She knew she couldn’t face the distressed mother who had come to her, begging, – please help me find my boy? – without something. Even if it was just a spec she suspected the woman’s son had dislodged in his travels, it was better than nothing. The signs weren’t looking good. They didn’t point to death, so much as they pointed at nothing, or vague directions that didn’t yield much other than maybes.

She couldn’t imagine the grief the mother was experiencing, nor the pain and fear her boy was going through without a doubt. Kids ran away all the time, some for stupid reasons and they soon learned their mistake – others because they had something worth fleeing from. In this case, it seemed very much like a regular family fight that ended in something dangerous. Where most kids went somewhere familiar or just down the street, others had more options and the portal seemed like a pretty good place for a person who’d had enough of it all.

Except it was full of monsters and darkness, no place for a child, even one in their teens who thought themselves capable. Judy never went anywhere without her actual gun anymore. She’d graduated since the days of Fox Away. The SFPD didn't take chances on officer safety and she was grateful for it, if a little conflicted. Nose twitching as she walked as silently as she could, Judy followed the vague trail, using all of the skills her training at the ZPD and SFPD had given her. She wouldn't fail this time, she couldn't. One boys life wasn’t going to make up for all the predators lives she’d ruined before zootopia was wiped out, but it was something.

She had to try, right? Every little bit helped, though, as she moved through the trees, almost flinching at every sound, she couldn’t help but think this was a bad idea. you’ve got no back up here Harls, just your bunny wits, gun and… well that’s it. he thoughts drifted to nick and everyone else she hadn’t seen in such a long time. She quickly shook her head as if trying to physically rattle her thoughts away and redoubled her efforts to focus on her task at hand.

The sound of gentile water lapping at a shore caught her attention, so she followed it. A source of water seemed like a logical place to camp – now she was just going with her gut. Call it a hunch. Judy cleared the tree line to see a magnificent lake, her ears dropped in awe as she approached, spinning around to take in the scenery. “Wow.” A familiar feeling of wonder bubbled up from her gut, it was the very same that had taken a hold of her the first time she saw zootopia from the train, walking among the rainbow of different animals. The city where anyone could be anything… of course she’d learned her lesson.

A sound caught her attention and she whirled around in its direction, taking out her weapon and pointing it at where she thought it had come from. “Who’s there? Z… SFPD, come out with your hands up.” she couldn’t believe she’d said it but she kind of just defaulted to work-mode. if it was the darkness, it most likely wasn’t going to submit and just charge at her – full on. this was a great idea…

1, 2, 3 1, 2, 3 drink

Her heart beats fast but steady as her feet fly over the sidewalk, never missing a step. The morning air is cool and the light dim, the sun hasn’t risen yet but it will soon shine its rays over the dull tones of the city, illuminating the brick and glass – reflect off the water and set fire to the famous bridge that sits as a proud crown.

1, 2, 3 1, 2, 3 drink
Throw em back, till I lose count…

Lungs burning, she never stops, dodging around obstacles and others who share the streets – keeping up the pace on the spot even at red, don’t walk, lights. This is her city, she loves it as much as she loved Zootopia. It’s not perfect, not by a long shot but that’s why she works so hard, devoting her heart and soul to her job. She wipes her brow as she enters Fell Street and crosses into John F. Kenndy drive, starting the heart of her route through Golden Gate Park, the music in her ears spurring her on. They’re not huge and covered in fur anymore – it’s something she’ll never quite get used to. Even her height difference throws her off at times – but hey, glass half full! – At least people can’t look down on her anymore. Sometimes she feels out of place, lost among the people and world so unlike her own, but its home now. She has to accept that and she does. Even if at times she day dreams of the city she idolized as a child, with its unique districts and rainbow of animals.

I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist
Like it doesn't exist

Harley picks up the pace as the music reaches the chorus, a smile creeping onto her face as she passes by others in the park, going about their business. Some are running like her, others doing yoga or mediation, or simply enjoying a coffee before work takes over. The sun reaches higher and illuminates the park proper, casting warm shades across the green landscape.

It’s going to be a good day.

“Please, you have to find my son.”

“We’re doing everything we can.”

She places her hands over those of the concerned mother with an added gentle squeeze, offering her the most reassuring smile she can manage. Sometimes she wonders if she’s convincing enough, if her words are believable, if they give any hope at all. Harley never says I promise anymore, the alternative is too sad to think about and it ends up that way more often than she’d like. There’s a harshness here, one that stabs through to the core of her and threatens to cast a dark shadow over her burning positivity. The first time a grieving family member screamed but you promised at her and she was left alone with her regrets in the wake of their profound loss, she wished she could take it back. Every word. Found didn’t necessarily mean alive. Emmett Otterton was a rarity. Her first case, a good one, all things considered. The world was a complicated messy place and endings weren’t always happy. Like Bogo said, she couldn't sing a song and make everyone's dreams – including her own – come true.

“Please, find my Emmett.”

She could remember the room so clearly, the clean walls of the station, the way the space pressed down on her despite its vastness, Bogo’s large form and harsh breathing – his anger and frustration clearly apparent – it made her nose twitch. He was furious, embarrassed and myriad of other things. She was hopeful then, naïve, she wanted the case and to prove herself so badly. Zootopia was still brand-new then, where anyone could be anything. She could see now she was impatient and while things were okay the last time she’d seen Bogo, she still hadn’t said sorry.

She knows she has a lot of apologizing to do, all things considered – and she will, if it's the last thing she does! Even if they are or were on good terms. No one deserves to go without that kind of closure, respect is important.

Her new chief is so unlike Bogo it’s almost comical. She finds herself attributing animals to those she works with, Chief Myers seems a lot like a panther, maybe a tiger or a lion, strong, intimidating but playful when the mood strikes. Still, she misses her fellow officers, Clawhauser’s happy maw, always full of some sort of treat – the face of the ZPD.

She wonders if she’ll ever see them again.

Don’t think like that Harls!

She spreads files over her desk and runs her fingers across the smooth cardboard. Some are thicker than others, but each is stamped with a unique animal and a name. There’s one for every mammal she can remember from her old life, Fru Fru, Mr. Big, Mayor Lionheart and Assistant Mayor Bellwether included. No one is left out. She spends her spare waking hours searching through Haven Hill records, looking for clues to their whereabouts, she has to know they’re okay – even the bad ones. Even if she can't put them behind bars here, she can remind them she knows and won't forget. Harley can’t really describe why she's doing this. She’s nicknamed it 'pack mentality' even though she’s the furthest animal removed from a wolf ever. Us little guys have to stick together – but it’s more than that, much more. They shared a home, a history and lost it. Birds of a feather… and all that.

She will see them again.

“I just… I never thought it would turn out like this. It was an accident. I was scared. I never meant to hurt him, he was my best friend. Have you ever done something you regret?”

She looks at the perpetrator with sympathy, even though he’s more of a victim. There are tears in her eyes she’s trying desperately to hide. She’s usually good at this, being impartial. It’s part of her job and the law doesn’t discriminate, she’s supposed to be fair and just but there’s nothing fair and just about this. It was an accident, plain and simple. Human emotions took over and in the end, mistakes were made. She knew a thing or two about those.

She nods and frowns as they sit together on a hillside, legs dangling over the edge of a retaining wall. The sky is gray, which fits the mood. Its threatening to rain and she wishes it would so she can hide her want to cry.

“I had a best friend too once. I said things that hurt him and I can never take them back. I haven’t seen him in a very long time.” She says, staring off into the distance, glancing at them at the last moment, then away again out of fear she’ll break.

Besides her family – Harley misses them so much, all 277 of them – she thinks about Nick and what she did the most. He deserved so much better than she gave. There isn’t a day that goes by that she doesn’t wish she could change what she said at that press conference and she wants to say sorry so badly. Regret sometimes eats her alive. It wasn’t just their friendship she ruined, oh no, but also the lives of millions of other predators, unintentionally instigating prejudice from the prey portion of the population. She wanted to fix the world, to help save it and make it better but instead…

She broke it.

The darkness came then and smashed whatever pieces were left into smaller ones, until there was nothing but a memory. She doesn’t like to think about it, so she doesn’t. She stuffs it away with every other sad thing she’s come to know here and locks the box shut. It’s unhealthy but she doesn’t know what else to do. She just has to keep trying. In this moment, it isn’t about her anyway, it’s about the job, justice and doing what’s right. It’s about making the world a better place, even when it seems beyond repair. Its about trying to help others – doing what she’s been preparing for her whole life. Despite the excruciating memories and ache in her heart she smiles. The rain decides to fall then, but neither of them move.

“Does it get any easier?”

“I’m not going to lie to you, the pain will always be there but its what you do with the knowledge of your mistakes that counts. You have to try, for your friend and everyone you let town, but mostly for yourself. I know it might seem like it, but life isn’t over.”

“What’s the matter sweetie?” She asks in a calming voice as she sits down beside a young girl. Her knees are drawn up to her chest and she’s obviously been crying. She furiously wipes at her face in an attempt to hide it, but her red cheeks and eyes give her away. Harley often volunteers to visit schools and talk about safety or career choices depending on the age group. She loves it, she wishes someone did that for her when she was young, opening her mind to a universe of possibilities.

With the size of her family, the older bunnies were often called upon to step in and perform parental duties, which she never minded. She loved her siblings and extended family, more than she could describe – even if she had her favorites. She knew how to talk to kids, or at least she thought she did. The girl seems hesitant at first but eventually speaks up, keeping her head low and eyes averted.

“Jacob said I can’t be a soldier, or a firefighter or a CEO, because they’re boy’s jobs and girls aren’t good at it.”

Harley’s eyebrows shoot up, her upper body leans back in shock of its own accord. How dare he! That little… Anger boils within her, bright and hot. She can't stand it when people are so narrow minded, they have to limit the dreams of others with their backward views and push those thoughts onto their children. She adores her parents, bless them, but that doesn't mean she agrees with their smothering protective attitudes and want, no need, to settle. She can't, she won't and she refuses to see fledgling souls snuffed out before they’ve even begun to burn.

“Jacob doesn’t know what he’s talking about.” She says, so firmly and so passionately it makes the little girl sit up. Harley smiles then, sighing as she inwardly urges herself to calm down. “When I was your age, everyone told me I couldn’t be a police officer. I was a girl, I was too short and small. That I wasn’t strong enough, it’s a dangerous job and I’d never make it.” She pauses then, remembering all the negativity and Gideon.

I want you to remember this moment, the next time you think you will ever be anything more than just a stupid carrot-farming dumb bunny.

Even her instructor at the academy told her to give up. The pessimism followed her onto the force as well, but she never did give in. At least, not until after the press conference…

“But you know what? I didn’t listen and I didn’t quit and look where I am today! You won’t know if you don’t try, right? So you be a soldier, or a firefighter or the CEO of your own company and you show everyone who said you couldn’t do it. Be the first, be the best. It might not work out the first time, but you keep at it. Don’t let them get to you and don’t let them see that they do. I believe in you.”

“Thank you Miss Gray.”

“Anytime kiddo. And if he keeps coming back for more, you tell him you have a friend in the SFPD who’ll come and arrest him!”

The girl stands then, nodding once and runs off, a huge smile on her face and Harley – Judy – watches her go, seeing a younger version of herself skip off too. Her heart swells with a hard to describe feeling of satisfaction mixed with melancholy. She pins a loose strand of hair behind her ear, brushing her fingers through it as she walks away.

I won't give up, no, I won't give in till I reach the end,
then I'll start again...

NAME:

Harley means - hare wood (or meadow), from the hare's meadow. I chose this firstly because it starts with H – like Judy’s old surname Hopps, then came the meaning. While she’s not a hare but a Bunny, I felt like it fit pretty well. It’s bright and fun, just like her. Nickname wise Alexandra is one female form of Alexander, which means defender of men. While Judy is a rabbit and comes from a world where animals evolved to become the dominant intelligent life force on the planet, she still believes in making the world a better place – no matter what sphere she’s in, human or animal. Gray is simple, it’s the colour of her fur as a rabbit, she’s also the only one in her family with darker gray tipped ears so, this one was pretty easy. Other than that, it's nothing she'd ever really admit, but she also chose it because of Gideon Grey. The fox who used to tease and bully her as a child. He helped fuel her determination to never quit, but he's also a reminder of how people can change and for the better.

PLAYBY:

Elizabeth Olsen is perfect for Judy, she has a sweetness about her, a fun-loving bright side while at the same time takes roles that are quite serious. As a police officer, Judy is often forced to put aside her own feelings, dealing with all manner of stressful situations. Elizabeth portrays this duality quite well, she’s cute but also very kickass. Not only this, but her facial features are also a good match. She has quite high cheek bones and pronounced cheeks which mimic Judy’s, large eyes and a beautiful toothy grin that sometimes only shows her two front teeth – just like a rabbit. I also like the fact she varies her hair colour between blonde and brown, which gives a nice nod to the variations in her natural fur as a rabbit, between white, grey and dark grey tones.

BIRTHDAY:
March 20 (first day of spring)

OCCUPATION:

Harley has one full time job as a SFPD detective – specialising in missing person’s cases, although she’s sometimes assigned others, this is what she predominantly works on. She’s got a good track record and seems to have a nose for it. It’s not hard to see why she’d be on the SFPD, being an officer was her dream, but in this world, where anyone can really be anything, it wasn’t much of a leap for her to buckle down, study hard and make that step up to detective. Given her background in Zootopia with the missing mammals, missing persons seemed perfect for her. Despite the fact she has a full-time job, she splits whatever time she has left between herself and Haven Hill, helping residents there to find their missing loved ones. She’s determined to make both worlds, the human side and the animated side – a better place. Twice the job, hey - glass half full! - twice the fun, right?

POWERS & ABILITIES:
Harley has all the skills and experience one might expect a seasoned officer of the law to possess. She’s physically very fit (she trains a hell of a lot in the gym and also runs every morning and night), is capable under stress and has excellent hand to hand combat skills. Not only this but she’s trained in the use of various firearms and anything else you’d expect a police officer to know. As a rabbit, she’s lightning fast and extremely athletic, capable of bounding quite far and in various directions with speed. She uses this to her advantage when fighting or evading. It goes without saying, but she’s also very good a burrowing and tunneling. She also has a keen sense of smell and hearing. She retains these traits (smell, hearing, speed and agility) in the human world, though they are toned down quite a bit she can't leap over a car for example but she can - say bound from a car to wall, to a ledge, like someone who regularly practices parkour. These skills enhance her ability to do her job and do it well.

PERSONALITY:

Harley’s personality can be summed up pretty well by her speech at the end of the movie, even though she’s not quite there yet because the resolution never happened – it still bears significance. “When I was a kid, I thought Zootopia was this perfect place, where everyone got along and anyone could be anything. Turns out, real life is a little bit more complicated than a slogan on a bumper sticker. Real life is messy. We all have limitations, we all make mistakes, which means - hey, glass half full! - we all have a lot in common. And the more we try to understand one another, the more exceptional each of us will be. But we have to try. So no matter what type of animal you are; from the biggest elephant to our first fox, I implore you - try. Try to make the world a better place. Look inside yourself and recognize that change starts with you. It starts with me. It starts with all of us." She wants to make the world a better place, more than anything and strives to reach that goal in everything she says and does. She’s kind, wants to be helpful and takes her job very seriously. Not only this, but she wants to break barriers and change perceptions. When someone tells her no, she won’t accept it and uses their negativity to fuel herself into proving them wrong and she encourages others to do the same. She also wants to help others change, to see where their behavior isn’t working and better themselves. She isn’t perfect however, she makes mistakes and harbors ideas and thoughts that aren’t ideal, but she’s trying – even if she’s in a little bit of a jaded funk. Even if finding Nick and saying sorry plays on her mind every day. She’s trying, one step at a time – with a foot in both worlds.

BACKGROUND:

Her background is the same as it was during Zootopia, their first bunny cop looking to make the world a better place. After crossing over she set herself up and joined the SFPD because she belived she could do the most good there and wasted no time in forging ahead. She was overjoyed to realize that she could become a detective with study and hard work – so, here she is today, Detective Harley Gray, who helps the animated realm and the real world find their lost lo ved ones.

CANON CUTOFF:

Roughly a week or two after the press conference, she went back into the city to find Nick after realising Night Howlers were flowers - not wolves - and disaster struck, throwing everything into chaos. She couldn't get back to find her family, so she saved as many people as she could, finding the portal in the process.
