San Fransico was such such a box! It was where the inhabitants of the cartoon worlds were banished too as darkness swarmed over them and so for the last 10 years the almost all powerful Cheshire cat of the weird and wacky Wonderland had to live among..normal people as well as transformed people from the other lands. As a tribute to the one human who ever was in Wonderland named Alice by making her new form a rather beautiful English sounding Blonde.
Unlike most of the fairy tale/cartoon realm creatures and people who now called Haven Hill their home and chose to cling to "Normalcy" in order to Survive the Cheshire Cat decided to call her new disguise Tilly Catherine Jefferson and decided to just keep on doing what she had been doing back home. She was the homeless drifter but this go around now that she needed things like food, clothes and money she began to do things using the few magical gifts she had left. She would either play the role of the homeless street thief or the doer of favor at a price.
Over the last 10 years if one of her cartoon compatriates needed information, items they couldn't legally obtain or just wanted to know rumors they would come to the largest and longest tree in the Golden Gate State Park with either a new article of clothing, a meal or a small amount of money and whatever you asked of the not all there mad Cat Drifter would be done. Every so often if she felt the people known as the "cops" catching onto her activities she would get them off her back by doing them a favor or two by being their little informant since she could get information without other people even knowing she was ever there.
There was one bonny lass that the clever little kitty never ever thought of charging and that was the beautiful blonde ballet dancer who in this prison of a world went by Claire Anna De La Fontaine but was truly a beautiful being known as "The Dancer" or at least that was the word around Haven Hill.
Why wouldn't the not all there girl of madness charge a simple ballerina? Out of love of course! Like Tilly did everyone she had kept a watchful eye on this beautiful ballerina and quickly found herself enamored by her graceful movements and unrivaled beauty as if she herself could turn into smoke and glide among the wind.
In hopes of seeing her beautiful dancer once more Tilly or Cheshy however you chose to know her braved the cold atop her favorite tree in a torn up black t-shirt, a red and black button down but unbuttoned short sleeve striped shirt, torn jeans, raggedy sneakers and a paper machet white rabbit mask sitting atop her head in the hopes that her favorite blonde and the only puzzle worth solving would stop by to pay her a visit.
Sometimes, the weather was beautiful. The sun would come out, the birds would sing, and it wouldn’t be so freezing cold like it often was in the winter months. Today, however, was not one of these days. The birds were not singing, the sky was dark and cloudy, and it seemed like a rain would start at any time. Still, Claire wanted to be outside. She needed to stretch her legs and get out from her small little apartment, even if only for a brief period of time. Oftentimes it helped her think and realize she didn’t have to stress so much about the little things, and other times it cleared her thoughts of anything important at all. Those were the times Claire needed in order to really fight her depression away. When it told her to stay indoors, to hide away, she knew she had to do as best as she possibly could to push back.
Busing to the park was a bit of a trip, but it was worth it. There were some truly incredible views one could see from almost any angle of the park, plus plenty of benches to sit on and people to watch. Claire didn’t people watch often, but it could certainly be an enjoyable thing at times. There wouldn’t be anyone out today, of course, not in this weather. Most people in the park were just exercising, or passing through on their way here or there. It was far too cold to stay outside for much longer than that! Still, wrapped up in one of her favorite jackets, Claire had no fear about being cold. In fact, she was fairly toasty in her outfit of choice. She had no issue with being outside anyways- her climber would always be out there with her by his side, so she had to learn to brave all sorts of weather. She had to wonder, though- what sort of weather was he dealing with now?
Her hands shoved in her pockets, Claire moved throughout the park, listening to the sounds of the winds blowing through the various trees. Somehow, it was a calming sound. Just like the rustling of her climber in the trees he would climb through, really. Trees. In her movement throughout the park, Claire had forgotten about the girl she had met. Tilly. They were friends, Claire would say, although she was still a bit worried about getting close to anyone at all- what if the disappeared in a moment like her climber? Tilly was like her, though, from another world in some other land. So she could trust her, talk to her. Was she here at the park, on this day? Claire couldn’t help but be curious.
She moved towards the tree Tilly seemed to enjoy, looking up into it as she approached it, ”Tilly? You there?” it would be rude, after all, not to just stop by and say hi if she was in the area.
This day was officially the best day ever! As Tilly sat perched in her beloved tree she spotted the most beautiful sight that could have graced the park that was her home!Claire anna de la fontaine had decided to visit with her and even ask for her by name! Who was Cheshy to keep her favorite blonde beautiful ballerina waiting? Tilly just quickly turned her body into smoke and floated out of the tree quickly doing a close almost seductive circle around Claire before reforming in front of her.
"I'm always here when you come to call my graceful dancer."
To try and impress the woman that she had quite strong but unrequited feelings for Tilly did her best to a ballet move Claire would have called a Pliae or some such but when she went to do so she almost toppled over until she stood up straight again. The mad cat then blushed and brushed a piece of her hair behind her ear in a shy embarrassment as she looked Claire over.
"You look bloody lovely today as always Claire. I wish I could dress nicer for your visits. Do you have any special plans for today or are you free? I managed to save up a little money and I was wondering if maybe..You'd like to get lunch..together?"
Normally the mad cat hid her emotions or motives for others behind her veil of madness and manic behavior and laughter but Claire was a very special case. Whenever she was even near her Tilly could feel her emotional defenses fall and her chaotic nature subside as the desire to please the blonde she oh so loved and cared for took a tight hold. The sad part was however for Tilly that even if Claire knew of these feelings which she very well might she was still hung up on her climber from her own story and that made Tilly have a feeling that she absolutely hated. it made her Jealous.
"We can eat where ever you wanna go! What do you say Claire!?"
Hands shoved deeply into her pockets, Claire did her best to stay warm in the chilly winds. She was lucky to have such a heavy jacket, with warm shoes and gloves ready if she needed to put them all. They were nice and all, but not the most comfortable gloves she owned. In the end, they were warm, and that was the most important part. A winter chill wouldn’t be enough to bug her, although she certainly felt bad for others who didn’t have such options to stay warm. Tilly was one of those people, those who lived without homes or money or any of that. Of course, Tilly had the option of coming to Haven Hill, she just didn’t. Claire hadn’t asked why, but she knew the girl had her reason. Everyone had reasons for what they did, and Claire wouldn’t interrupt. Besides, she was far too busy with her own life. There were so many things to deal with and so little time to work with any of it at all.
The blonde smiled at her friend, ”It’s good to see you!” she nodded before smiling as the other girl danced around. A bit silly, but it was fun! Tilly was an entirely different type of person, and one Claire couldn’t quite understand. It certainly was a lot to handle, but that would be okay. Claire wasn’t going to be picky in her friends, after all. ”Thank you. Are you staying warm? It seems the winter chill is a bit heavy today.” no matter what, Claire would be concerned about making sure others were warm and cozy. No need to stress anyone out!
”Lunch?” she went wide-eyed, ”No, no, I couldn’t let you waste your money on something like that. Save it up for something better, you know?” Claire nodded a few times, ”Like getting yourself a warmer jacket, or new shoes or something. You don’t have to treat me to something as silly as lunch!” that made sense, right? It was just a little thing, but Claire much preferred people making themselves happy over her, ”Just talking is fun.”
