ACXE

Acxe is a true gem. Always present, always eager to offer up support and a kind word. They've given life to an interesting cast of characters from Kristoff to Cerberus, all of which are a welcome edition to EDS and played phenomenally. If you haven't, now is definately a good time to show your appreciation, and thank Acxe for everything they do!

Mirrors on the ceiling, The pink champagne on ice And she said, 'we are all just prisoners here, of our own device'
Was it a smart move to go for a road trip just a few weeks after getting a car? It sure had felt like it at the time. As if the open road had been calling his name. Maybe it always had been, and his own fears deafened the call until now. Seated behind the wheel of a new to him but technically a used convertible, Sterling was all ears now. Actually driving out of the city was nerve-wracking, the city traffic nearly had him rethinking the 'get a car to drive away from your problems' plan, but as the concrete jungle filled with man-made ambiance gave way to the arid desert with only the sound of the wind and the radio to keep him company something overcame him. Some unnamed need to put the pedal to the metal and just, go. Faster and farther down the road that faded into the horizon like it was the only path to take and he was the only being in the world.

Of course, the illusion of utter freedom and an endless road faded as the sun began to set and his stomach turned craving food. Soon enough the hypnotic pattern of the lines on the road and fresh air had his eyelids growing heavy. The hotel seemed to appear out of nowhere, and checking in and spending time around the place seemed to go by like he was walking in a haze. He didn’t question it, which should have sent a red flag flying up the moment he noticed that he wasn’t questioning everything. Thinking back, there were quite a few red flags. It was impressive that it took him calling room service for a drink, and the woman on the other end of the line telling him that particular drink hadn’t been served in twenty years to realize something was wrong with the hotel. Very wrong. Like, leave now and just give yourself time to get your car keys and room key wrong.

Suffice to say, the appeal of the place had finally worn off. His thoughts were circling through his memories since checking in, trying to come up with solutions as to what possessed him to stay so long, why the place would draw him and maybe others in and have them stay. What was the purpose? By the time he reached the front desk, room key in one hand, bag and car keys in the other and slung over his shoulder, Sterling didn't have any answers. Nerves caused him to slap the ring for service bell harder than intended with the room key, and if he wasn't trying to seem as calm as possible he would have flinched at the loud ringing.

The moment someone moved from behind the front desk, Sterling cleared his throat and slid the key across the counter. "Hello, just checking out." Nothing to be bothered by, He tried to assure himself, you will be on the road and away from here shortly.
