Our resident meme queen, Lauren is always a positive figure in the chat and on site, and we're glad to have her! It's a blast to watch her colorful array of characters interact with others, from SF native Theo to our favorite misguided stepsister Alex. Whether she's plotting, posting, or just being herself, she never fails to bring smiles to our faces.

charas of the month

Welcome to ENDLESS DIAMOND SKY! We are an animation personified site set both in the animated world and present day San Francisco. A terrible darkness is spreading through the animated realm, driving everyone from their homes and into unknown territory that we know as reality. Now they find themselves at a crossroads: do they fight for their world or do they turn their back on it and make San Francisco their home? What will you choose?

it is weak and silly to say you cannot bear what it is your fate to be required to bear..

Abandoned. Unwanted. Forgotten. It was dark, cold, and unmistakable alone, curled in on herself and backed into the far corner of her bed with her face buried in her knees, hair fanned out around her to hide the mess she had become. No one was there. No one to talk to, no one to listen... Nothing and no one to make her feel something, to make her mean something. Empty. Broken. Unwanted. The darkness of what she only knew to call her loneliness was closing in on her from all sides, reminding her of everyone that she'd lost...everyone who had left her. Friends, family, her twin. She hadn't even had a soulmate that might stay by her, having woken up on the day she was meant to find the person she was meant to be with in her own bed, with no hint of why she had no one where everyone else had somebody to love them. Maybe it was her. Maybe she was the problem. Party girl Kenna, always laughing and smiling and down for a good time, but never giving up her secret that she was struggling on the inside to find some semblance of control over her own life. She wanted a soulmate, of course...wanted someone to love her and to really mean it more than anything, but the idea of just waking up one morning in someone else's body and having that person be it for you had terrified her. Up until the morning came and she'd woken up still herself. The darkness continued to crash in on her, and yet she continued to hope and plead with the universe for someone to come back to her.

Starting awake with quick breath of air, she stared up at the ceiling for a long moment, blinking the sleep from her eyes as she watched the fan spinning rhythmically above her. Had she turned on the fan last night when she'd gotten home for some reason and forgotten? It was freezing in here, her skin already prickling with the cold and rising up in goosebumps. Shivering, she pressed further into the blankets gathered up beneath her, wondering if she'd kicked off her covers in her sleep. It had been a crazy dream she'd just woken up from, after all, even though she could already feel the edge of it wearing off as the dream itself faded from her memory. Blinking again, this time against the sunlight that filtered in through the window, already brightly lighting the room even without the overhead light on. Why had her alarm not gone off to wake her sooner? She was usually up and getting in a few minutes of writing--her morning routine that she disclosed to absolutely no one--in one of the notebooks piled untidily on her desk by now. Grappling for her phone on the other side of the bed to check her alarms, she frowned when she didn't feel it in its usual place. What had she done last night that had left her so confused waking up this morning?

Yawning, she stretched her arms up above her head and ran her hands through her hair, freezing when her fingers caught in locks that her decidedly shorter than her own. What the hell had happened last night? She'd been out with friends until late, celebrating, but she had refused to drink too much, for some reason... The realization hit her like a bus that to way was-- "My birthday!" she exclaimed in a voice that definitely did not belong to Kenna Seshat, bolting upright in the bed she knew now was not her own and climbing to her feet, looking down at herself. She was a man, for sure, but that was about the extent of distinguishing features that she could make out. Rolling her shoulders, she felt her--his--muscles moving over themselves with the motion and yawned again, looking around the room. Whoever her supposed soulmate was, he apparently didn't sleep with blankets, she noted as she glanced down at the bed, still perfectly made but for the outline of where she'd been lying moments before. Her surroundings were familiar enough, somehow, but she wasn't sure yet of why that was. Did she already know the person who was about to turn out to be the man she was supposed to spend her life with. Sighing, she shook her head, taking one last look around as her stomach twisted anxiously around itself. This was the big moment that everyone waited for pretty much from the moment they were old enough to understand that each one of them had someone out there who they were meant to be with forever, and somehow, she was terrified, even with as curious as she was.

Making her way out into the hall, she looked around the main part of the apartment, her brows knitting together. It was even more familiar out here, and it suddenly clicked into place that she did know this place. She'd been here on more than one occasion to hang out, mostly with her twin brother. Did that mean that her brother's friend was her soulmate, or...? Wandering down the hall to the bathroom, she stepped inside and closed and locked the door behind her, taking a long breath and staring at the closed door for a long moment. Her whole life was about to change in a matter of seconds...was she really ready for this? Releasing the doorknob, she let out a sigh and finally turned to the mirror. But it wasn't her twin's friend--her friend--whose body she inhabited this morning. It was his roommate. What was his name again? August? She'd always called him Grumpy Gus when they'd had to pretend at some semblance of polite conversation, but honestly, she'd always thought he was kind of an ass. At least to her. They'd never hit it off, never really clicked or gotten along, and she looked upward, closing her eyes and tightening his hands into fists at her sides. This couldn't be happening. This had to be a mistake...or maybe she was still having a nightmare, though she wasn't sure why Grumpy Gus would be starring in her nightmares...

"This can't be happening," she repeated her thoughts with a groan, leaving the bathroom and padding back to the room where she'd woken up. She had to get dressed so that she could make a real plan for her next move, so that she could figure out how all of this was going to go. Maybe she could head back to her place, she thought as she tugged on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, though that would also require that she remember his address, knew where his phone was and how to get into it in case she needed directions, and that she could find his keys and car--if he even had a car. Who knew nowadays.
