Stepping through the portal was a necessary hassle. Memories were important to someone who had so little else to hold onto. He had a lot he needed to remember, eons of memory that didn't feel like all that much in the face of everything he'd lost. His pride didn't let him let go and he was thankful for that. Even if it meant he had to wander back to the Portal at some point.

Of course the walking wasn't really what made this uncomfortable. He'd walked the length and breathe of San Francisco a thousand times over already. Brushed his fingers against the walls of every building, and explored the back allies. He might not have been able to see where he was going or what his surroundings looked like, but he knew how to find his way. Understood what routes would take him where he needed to go the fastest. What he hated, and especially after the disaster with the snow, was what waited for him on the other side. Stopping just a few steps from the portal he pulled out a strip of dark cloth from his pocket, the wind making it whip angrily in his grip. This is the part he hated, the slow inhale and exhale where he steadied his hands. Grip firming on the soft fabric as he lifted it to wrap around his head. It's not that he cared about what people saw when they looked at him. He couldn't see their expressions one way or the other, and he definitely couldn't see himself. Something he never really thought he'd be thankful for. Yet he'd learned a long time ago that it simply made things easier to hide the heavy scaring that blissfully didn't follow him across the portal, or the empty eye-sockets that came with them.

It made him glad that whatever magic powered the Portal had seen fit to grant him eyes on the other side. Even if they were as useless as the scarred and empty eye sockets he currently sported. He didn't have to worry about covering his face to hide the scars or deal with fake eyes just to seem half normal.

For a moment his fingers lingered by the blindfold, delicately touching the edges to make sure that everything was covered. Edging the fabric down or up as needed. Silently thankful that his feet found firm and familiar concrete to stand on, and no biting icy winds. He'd been almost scared to cross after the last time...at least his fears were unfounded. Which was good because he wasn't alone this time. Hearing the soft pad of paw prints beside him, Cyrus let his hand drop back to his side. A soft smile edging up the corners of his lips as he waited till he felt that familiar head press up against his palm, a gentle lick flicking over his fingers. A few steps more and his hand was met with the handle that extended up from Apollo's harness. "Good boy." He mused, before nodding off ahead.

He didn't like wandering very far from the portal, it was very easy for both of them to get lost out here. Even with his dog to guide him, there was nothing familiar for Apollo to help bring them back to where they needed to be. It didn't matter that there was concrete beneath his feet, or he could almost feel the familiar smooth edge of a sky scraper when his hand reached out for the nearest surface. This wasn't the city they'd come from. It was desolate and dead, and it rang with the discomforting noise of silence. He didn't think he even remembered space being this silent.

Keeping his steps slow and cautious, letting Apollo lead him past what he assumed was piles of rubble and debris. He tried not to think of home. Not this world, but his true home. The body he'd left behind and the siblings he couldn't help but assume were long dead. Even with mother back in his life. To think, he of all people, missing the siblings he'd hardly ever paid any mind to in the past. "Remember to stay quiet, okay boy?" A soft whine was his answer, and Cyrus tried his best to smile. Wondering if it had been a good idea to bring Apollo here with him. If anything happened to his dog he's not sure what he'd do. "You hear anything or see anything, you'll tell me right?"

For a moment Cyrus stopped, ears straining to listen to the world around him. At his side he could feel Apollo's head turning one way or the other, scanning their surroundings. It felt like...like something. Like they were both waiting for something to happen, and in his chest he could feel his heart beat up just the slightest bit. His mind mentally reaching out to catch the wind, forcing it to spin and circle around him, to slide itself into buildings and between cracks. Strong gusts of breeze that seemed to come from nowhere, but gave him a sense of his surroundings.

It wasn't like he saw someone, more like he felt their shape. Instinct made him push, the wind growing in intensity, roaring almost and making Apollo back against his side. A shove, and he sensed that person fall to the ground.

It's not like he can just look around and tell where he is. He counts on the familiar to find his way around, on the guidance of Apollo. San Francisco as large and frenzied as it was, is as familiar to him now as the surface of his planet had once been. He knew the streets, the alleyways. He could find his way from one place to another with the ease of practice and memory. Only using the wind to help him avoid unforeseen obstacles like passing pedestrians and whatever else might have been put on the path in front of him. He knows how to find his way in the city, but it's not the same as knowing where you are. He has to be always paying attention, always on guard. There's no looking up at a road sign to get his bearings. If he spaces out he's likely to wander for days before he reaches someplace familiar or finds himself back at home. Honestly half the reason he spend so little time in the Haven Hill apartment when he'd had it was because he'd get lost, winding through the city for days even weeks at a time. Even Apollo could only do so much. As intelligent and well trained as he was he was still only a dog. A guide, yes, but not in the literal sense of the word. Though he knew 'Home' and 'Park' well enough that sometimes it didn't really matter. Cyrus simply had to say the word and they'd be on their way, following some scent or internal compass he didn't understand.

The point is, if he could see, he probably would have seen where he was and recognized that this was a bad idea. He might have noticed that the voice calling his name, was leading him a place he didn't- shouldn't go. His portal crossings were rare and spaced out for a reason. It wasn't that he didn't like the other world, or wished to forget his origins. On the contrary, his pride would never let him forget. He would rather burn his eyes out a thousand times over, scrape his entire soul across space, then forget who and what he'd been. It was more that while San Francisco was manageable, the other side of the portal was wild and unpredictable. He had no idea where he was half the time, no clue how to find his way around. Sometimes he'd cross with Apollo but he hated risking his best friend's life in a world where monsters lurked in shadows he couldn't even see. He should have known, but he didn't, and the end result was that he couldn't remember.

Couldn't remember what the voice had been trying to tell him that sounded so interesting, so vitally important. Couldn't remember where he'd been or how far he'd had to walk to get here. He couldn't even recall if or when he'd told Apollo to stay, only that when that sensation of crossing ( that sudden emptiness that made his eyelids drop instinctively to hid the holes ) came over him he was alone.

"Shit." Was all he could manage as his hands scrambled in his pockets to find the bandanna he'd taken to carrying around with him. The movement was instinctive, it was the first thing he did whenever he crossed. Take the bandanna out, fold, and then tie around his face.

"Fucking hell kid, cover those damn things up will you."

"Shame, Sayer's eyes were a goddamn gift...

He didn't realize the temperature until his fingers struggled to tie the knot. It was kind of ironic really, temperature was usually the first thing he realized about a room. Especially when it sucks every ounce of heat out of his body, to the point where he wonders if the sound he hears in his head is his marrow freezing in his bones. Yet the memories hold it back for a moment, and it's only when the voices of his host's crew fade away, that the cold sets in. "You've really gone and fucking done it this time." Around him there is wind, but he's so cold he can barely grasp at it. There's snow landing on him, and it only makes him sink. He's not unfamiliar with cold and ice, he had it even as close to the sun as he'd been, but-

Never like this, San Francisco never got this cold, and his short stint as a human hadn't involved visiting any hostile frozen environments. Somewhere, a mental voice tells him to turn around, to find the portal, but he needs to just- he sinks into the snow, his internal temperature so low his breathe doesn't even show in the air. "Fuck this place."

Now that that's out of the way, onward to the actual wanted ad. So basically I play the personified spirit of the planet Mercury, and he would very much like his siblings/mother to make an appearance on the board. Most of the basic information can be found in his app here

The basic gist of it is that the sun created the solar system ( hence 'mother' ) and each of the planets from Mercury to Pluto is inhabited by a spirit. When the Darkness appeared in their world it came as a black void that devoured and destroyed everything in its path. In order to escape, some of the planets realized that they could send their spirit out of their 'bodies' and into that of a nearby living organism ( human, alien, ect. ) Generally age, has depended on size rather then distance from the sun. For example making Jupiter the eldest, and Pluto the youngest.

Overall this want ad is pretty open. A lot of the information can be found in my app, but if you have any questions you can come to me (Sam ) for answers. I didn't create this world originally, but seeing as I'm the only one left taking part in it I'll do my best to help you out. Just know that their world is set in a time that's very futuristic ( much like Firefly or Star Trek ) where people are aware of alien civilizations and space travel as well as colonization are a norm. What I'm looking for right now is basically the Sun, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Saturn, and Pluto. Faces, genders, and all that other good stuff is really open to you. Even age is open, considering they have very little control over the person they choose to inhabit when they're trying to escape. I think the only for sure things that were set in stone were the fact that Earth and the Sun are both female.

I don't really have any face suggestions except perhaps Bill Skarsgard for Mars, as he's in Hemlock Grove with Landon ( mercury's face ). AGAIN I REALLY WISH I HAD MORE TO OFFER YOU, BUT ALAS I DO NOT. I JUST REALLY REALLY WANT TO HAVE THE OTHER PLANETS ON BOARD. -tempts you with planet feels- believe me there are a lot.

Even if you don't want a planet there are plenty of other options to choose from as I imagine the planets aren't the only ones with spirits in them. Meaning that stars, moons, and whatever else you might be able to think of is also open for the taking. JUST THINK SPACE OKAY. SPACE IS AWESOME.

BEST FRIEND. BILL SKARSGARD

If you've watched Hemlock Grove, then you're probably familiar with this face. Bill Skarsgard plays Roman Godfrey on the Netflix original show, and he's amazing. Which is honestly why I've decided to request him for Cyrus. Cyrus is the spirit of the planet Mercury and his face plays Peter on Hemlock Grove. Which gives us lots of gifs and fun things to work with. He's blind, homeless, and he needs a best friend. I would love love love for Bill to be used as the Planet Mars, but if you don't want to go that route then that's fine with me. Either way I want him to be cocky and somewhat abrasive, enough that he can handle Cyrus' off-kilter sense of humor.

The way I picture it in my head they have that kind of friendship where they take potshots at each other all the time. Just tease and prank one another, but are really close nonetheless. Willing to stand up for each other and defend each other when needed.

If you decide that Mars isn't up your alley. I do have a sort plot idea for him. Or maybe several actually. One of them is that he's one of the crew members on the ship that Cyrus' body came from. After Cyrus took over rather then abandoning him to his own devices like the other crew members did, this person decided to keep an eye on him. Either hoping that the original person would come back somehow, or because he genuinely grew to like Cyrus/Mercury. Another option is that he's a fellow homeless person who decided to take the blind kid under his wing. Helping him on the streets and sticking by him as a sort of mentor and big brother figure.

Third option is he's not homeless at all but rather well off. He bonds with Cyrus after a few chance encounters when he's out rebelling against restrictive parents or whatever, and decides he likes him enough to be friends.

As you can see aside from the face this character is pretty much open. There's lots of options you can choose from, and so many different routes he can take. Not just the ones I've listed above. He can be a San Fran Original, a canon, or an animated original. Doesn't much matte to me either way. So long as someone gives me the thing ouo

People could get really annoying when they thought they had your best interest at heart. He'd come to realize that fact very quickly after he'd become human. Since he'd come into this world he'd been at the mercy of those around him. People looked on him with pity and as a result he was treated the same as though he was completely incapable of doing anything himself. In some cases, like when they'd given him Apollo, he'd put up with the special treatment. While in others, like when they tried to force him to remain in the complex, he'd adamantly refused. Though he understood their concern, he wasn't looking for any special treatment. It was his own fault his eyes were the way they were and so he felt pity from outsiders was useless. He especially didn't want the sort of help that stemmed from it, unless it was on his terms. In a way he was almost thankful he couldn't see the sorts of looks that were no doubt angled his way. The immediate softening of the gaze that you could almost hear as they realized something wasn't quite right with him. The way their tone had a way of shifting was bad enough, as though they were surprised or sad that someone 'so young' or with 'such pretty eyes' could have such horrible fortune. As far as Mercury the planet was concerned his disability was nothing special. He'd never had eyes to begin with, and he'd only ever seen one thing with them when he finally did. If he was familiar with the concept of irony he might have even laughed at the twist of fate. How the one thing he cared about in the universe effectively became the first and last thing he ever saw.

Of course he had other reasons for moving out onto the 'hostile' streets of the city. A whole list of them that he'd shared with various people who'd tried, and failed to get him help he hadn't necessarily wanted. He liked being under the sun from the moment he woke up to when he went to sleep. He felt uncomfortable in artificial cooling and heating. Since his body didn't produce heat of its own , absorbing the AC of any building he entered made the entire experience not something he'd recommend. He liked the freedom it offered, and how big and open everything was as opposed to the tiny apartment they'd stuffed him in. Compared to his siblings he might have been relatively small, but a planet was still a planet and he couldn't help but feel confined and squished within the confines of a building. Even the larger ones.

Then there was the people.

Being homeless wasn't like being entirely alone. There were communities based on the parts of the city you were in. Some of them squatted in abandoned buildings, under bridges, and a few ( like him ) enjoyed the park. When they could safely remain there without getting kicked out. Of course it wasn't exactly clean, or safe, but it felt far more natural to him then attempting to learn how to meld into the world like everyone else wanted him to. Perhaps he was just stubborn, or maybe it was the boy who still lingered in the back of his mind. Either way the streets, and the people that lived in them, were as much of a family as he felt he'd ever have again. Families were important to him, to both of them. Friends too.

"Apollo sit." He muttered, the golden lab effectively plopping down a little into the junk yard they'd wandered into. "Stay, guard." He didn't need to see to feel the dog tense where he sat, and it made him smile. He'd only had him for a little while, but it already felt like they'd known each other their entire lives. Like Apollo was as much a part of him as his arms or legs were. Of course that was also a big reason why he wasn't letting his guide dog walk any further then this. The last thing either of them needed was for him to get something stuck in his paw, and at least out here at the entrance he could be sure that he'd be safe. Which left Cyrus on his own. Dipping into his pocket he pulled out the walking stick and extended it with a flick of his hand. Nose crinkling slightly at the smell as he tapped it against the ground for a moment, before letting the wind point him in the right direction. A gust to the left and then down a trail, effectively tugging him in the direction he wanted to go.

Even though the wind helped, finding things when you couldn't see...especially somewhere where the landscape was constantly changing from the last time. Wasn't exactly a walk in the park. He fumbled a lot, bumped his shoulder into things and kept having to focus the wind even more, until he could make out the shape of the car he'd been searching for. By then he had a slight headache from just trying to figure his way around, and his fingers spent a little more time running over the sides of the mini-cooper in question until he was certain he'd actually made it. And hadn't just happened to stumble into some alternate part of the junkyard where he'd probably die.

Lifting his stick, he tapped it against the side, "Hey! You better be in there, I'd be really damn pissed if I came all this way to talk to myself." He tapped a little more urgently against the side, playing a random little beat against the metal. "Come on the sun is up, that means the gullible ones are awake." A grin spread across his face, head tilting up towards the sun. Playing with the wind was a lot easier then trying to use it as a radar, so it took little to no effort to make it whip around the junkyard. Finding every crook and cranny to howl and whistle through, making noise with anything that could. "Ya, hear that? Sounds like a wake up call."
